Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele; Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Femi Lijadu and Puma Energy International Managing Director Dr. Emma FitzGerald are some of the speakers at the 2022 Annual Corporate Governance Conference,

The conference organized by the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria (SCGN) as part of its commitment to developing corporate governance and best practices in Nigeria is scheduled for Tuesday, October 18, 2022, with the theme: “Digital, Diversity, and Inclusion: Evolving Trends in Board Governance and Culture”.

SCGN Chairman, Mr. Muhammad Ahmad, said in a statement that the conference will benefit from a global audience of corporate governance enthusiasts and stakeholders. And it aims to foster discussions among leading corporate governance experts who will discuss the role of digital, diversity and inclusion in board culture and effectiveness.

Commenting on the theme, the Chief Executive of the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria, Chioma Mordi, said, “The need for boards to evolve and embrace a new culture to ensure inclusiveness and effectiveness, as well as business resilience, influenced the theme of this “annual conference” of the year.

The “Annual Corporate Governance Conference” is an initiative of the Board of the Society of Corporate Governance Nigeria and supported by key industry players, which aims to provide valuable insights into the evolving framework corporate governance and best practices in Nigeria, the leadership role of the Board of Directors in the practice of corporate governance and the development of society.
