Dewa Honors Engineer for Winning Gold Award at ITEX 2022
Dubai: Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), honored Dewa employee and innovator Yousuf Hassan Alburei, from Dewa’s Water and Civil Division, for winning the award gold at the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2022) in Malaysia, in the individual category. Alburei won the award for its innovation “Pipeline Cubes for Leak Detection”.
The Patent Office of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council had appointed Alburei as the representative of the United Arab Emirates at ITEX 2022.
Al Tayer praised Alburei’s efforts to innovate smart and sustainable solutions to alleviate water scarcity around the world.
Al Tayer expressed his pride in Emirati innovators who are strengthening the UAE’s position as a global incubator for innovation. They raise the flag of the United Arab Emirates high on all international stages and support Dubai’s transformation to become the smartest, most dynamic and innovative city in the world.

Al Tayer hailed the outstanding innovations of GCC innovators at ITEX 2022.
He commended the efforts of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council to highlight the most outstanding innovations and motivate innovators.
