CRC’s new IT director named – Austin Daily Herald
CRC has announced that Jeff Hanson is CRC’s new Director of IT. Hanson replaces Rod Anderson as director, who will retire April 1 after 15 years with CRC.
Hanson has over 20 years of experience in the information technology field, having previously worked at large telecommunications operators with global networks, small telephone companies and in the healthcare industry. For the past 13 years, Hanson has worked with CRC member Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative in Jordan, Minnesota as an IT manager.
“I have experience building many IT solutions as well as creating security programs to ensure the privacy of even the most sensitive information,” he said. “My core technical skills include enterprise architecture – examining business objectives and developing holistic IT solutions to align with business needs. I have found a real passion for working with technology systems that allow me to connect with people and positively impact those around me. With this background in mind, I am so excited to be part of CRC. Focusing on the human side of technology – that’s where I thrive. »
Hanson, who began his career at CRC on January 19, is excited to be at CRC because he feels his personal values align with CRC’s corporate culture, values, mission and vision. His background in technology and his understanding of utility operations and IT systems positions him well to have a positive impact on CRC’s IT and security culture.
“After being here for a month now, I can tell you that we have a great team,” added Hanson. “I’m getting to know the employees here and I’m very excited to work with such great people within CRC as a whole, and certainly everyone on the IT team.
When he’s not working, Hanson takes care of his busy family. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors, going out on the lake, ice fishing, hiking and hunting.
