Banglalink SDG hackathon Code for a Cause 3.0 final held

Banglalink Code for a Cause hackathon finale was held in Dhaka on Saturday to encourage young problem solvers to come up with innovative solutions to the challenges of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

After a 24-hour competition, the winners of the hackathon were officially announced by the Banglalink judging panel.

Young problem solvers from across the country participated in the Banglalink SDG hackathon through online applications. Based on the prototype solutions they submitted, 15 teams were selected and invited to the hackathon to develop and showcase digital ideas on solving SDG issues related to corporate culture, quality education, to climate action, gender equality, entertainment and games.

Team Electric, Team Ubermensch and Team FarmEx were declared champions, first and second runners-up.

The teams received prizes and partnership opportunities with Banglalink.

Taimur Rahman, Director of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs, Banglalink, said, “One of the most effective ways to find innovative solutions to SDG challenges is to engage young minds in problem-solving processes.

“Banglalink has been successfully organizing the hackathon with this aim for a few years.”
